Privacy, in plain words

Pulse only works if people feel safe answering honestly. Here is exactly what we keep and why.

What we store

  • A random account ID

This is who you are to us. It is not connected to your name, email, or phone.

  • Your votes

Which option you picked on each poll, linked to your random ID, so you can change your vote and so we can remove votes from bots.

  • Passkey public keys

If you add a passkey, we store its public half. Your fingerprint, face, or PIN never leave your device.

  • IP address, browser, and country

Recorded when you sign in and when you vote. We use these only to detect bots and people voting from many accounts.

What we never ask for

  • ✕ Your name
  • ✕ Your email address
  • ✕ Your phone number
  • ✕ Passwords
  • ✕ Advertising or tracking cookies

Who sees what

Everyone sees only totals: how many votes each option received. Nobody else can see how you voted.

Pulse admins can see the votes and IP addresses tied to a random ID, so they can spot and ban bots. They cannot see who is behind an ID.

We use Cloudflare to host Pulse and Cloudflare Turnstile to check for bots. Turnstile doesn't use tracking cookies.

Leaving

You can delete your account at any time from your account page. That permanently removes your account, your passkeys, your sessions, and every vote you cast.
